Delta Scientific Names Lewellen Vice President, Product Support Division

VALENCIA, CALIF. – March 9, 2004 – Delta Scientific, the leading manufacturer of counter-terrorist vehicle control systems used in the United States and internationally, today announced that it has promoted Peter Lewellen to Vice President of its Product Support Division, formerly called the Eastern Division. The Fredericksburg, Va.-based Product Support Division now handles all domestic and international product support, including all calls for technical support.

“Our Product Support Division now services domestic and international entities,” says Peter Lewellen. “We are the ‘firemen’ of Delta. We travel all over the world servicing our customers.”
Lewellen has been employed by Delta for the past six years. Prior to working for Delta, Lewellen worked for the U.S. Department of State, where he traveled to more than 100 countries and became familiar with the Delta product line.

The Product Support Division began with four employees and now numbers a staff of 20. In the last four years, both the Product Support Division workload and staff have tripled. The division is responsible for almost all foreign installations, including U.S. embassies around the world. Lewellen’s office is responsible for maintenance contracts worldwide and has worked in countries as diverse as Egypt, Bulgaria, Jordan, Singapore, Yemen, Uganda, Ethiopia, India, Korea, Guam, Tanzania and various other nations.

In the past year, Lewellen’s office has seen a sharp increase in both domestic and international military force protection needs and he anticipates continued strong support of those installations.
Delta’s Product Support Division has visited the U.S. State Department and Navy installations on every continent since September 11th. It installs barriers, barricades and bollards at U.S. embassies and naval facilities around the globe and recently completed installations for the Navy in Washington state, the U.S. Marshall’s office in Florida and in the countries of Korea and Guam.

The Product Support Division also handles all maintenance and repair at the Special Operations Command at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa and other government agencies as well as installing anti-terrorist vehicle control systems at nuclear power facilities.
