Delta Scientific Holding DC-Area Vehicle Access Equipment Demonstrations

2 Days Only – June 24-25 in Fredericksburg, Va.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PALMDALE, CALIF. – May 8, 2014 – Delta Scientific, the leading manufacturer of counter-terrorist vehicle control systems used in the United States and internationally, today announced that government officials and security professionals can see demonstrations of Delta’s wide line of anti-terrorism vehicle barriers, bollards, crash-rated gates and other equipment, including new products on June 24-25 from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Delta support office at 125 Wyatt Lane, Fredericksburg, Va. Maintenance training will also be available on-site during the Delta Trade Show Event.

“This year we are celebrating forty years of protecting the United States’ most important facilities,” emphasizes Keith Bobrosky, Delta Scientific sales manager. “Our vehicle access control systems are seen all over the District of Columbia from the Capitol to the Department of State headquarters, Hoover Building, National Archives and countless more but many important security administrators have never seen them in action. This is their chance.”

Bobrosky stressed that especially those involved with security beyond the District will want to attend to actually see the equipment they order for in-country and foreign installations. In the United States alone, Delta Scientific secures over 110 Federal buildings, including courthouses and FBI locations. Delta also provides vehicle access control for over 160 U.S. embassies and consulates in 130-plus countries as well as those of the United Kingdom and other nations.

Recently, Delta barricades at the United States Consulate in Herat, Afghanistan, stopped a bomb-laden car and SUV from penetrating the entrances to the facility. The Taliban attacked the consulate in western Afghanistan with car bombs and guns, killing at least four Afghans, but failing to enter the compound or hurt any Americans. The two drivers of the explosives-filled vehicles did not survive.

New products will also be on display such as the green-friendly new HD300 barrier, available with either a fully electric or hydraulic control unit, that will stop a 15,000 pound (66.7 Km) vehicle traveling 50 mph (80 kpm). Upon impact, the barrier remains in its foundation and the opening stays blocked, providing a multiple hit capability. In its M50 crash test, the HD300 completely disabled the test vehicle, causing severe damage to the occupant department and power train. The maximum penetration recorded was an outstanding -1.8 m on the passenger’s side. The P1 penetration rating was given because the penetration beyond the protected side of the barrier was less than 1.0 m at the lower leading edge of the test vehicle’s cargo bed.

“We’ve already received commitments from general contractors, security integrators and government decision makers so great networking opportunities will be available,” adds Bobrosky.

To attend the June 24-25, 2014 Delta Trade Show Equipment Demonstration, security administrators and officials should RSVP Delta Scientific at 571-357-0801 in Virginia, at 661-575-1100 in California or contact the Delta Scientific representative. Admission is free and Virginia BBQ will be served.
